| Peter Arscott uses
acrylic on canvas, paper or wood. Memory, landscape, music, doodles, ploughed fields are the sort of themes that inform his work, and often give it a certain mood. The titles of the paintings sometimes refer to this.
His paintings are figurative in that they refer to objects - but because they are not copies of nature, they are also abstract to the degree necessary for painting. Once the boundaries are set by the still life motif, he paints very quickly, without a precise intention, allowing elements to appear in response to the painting itself.
